The following topics were discussed during the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) monthly meetings on Oct. 13-14, 2021:
Ethics Division
The GaPSC recommended a suspension of 90 days for a principal who allegedly failed to report suspected child abuse to DFACS in a timely manner. The GaPSC also recommended a reprimand to an educator who allegedly failed to report suspected child abuse to the appropriate person in a timely manner. The educator allegedly passed along the suspected child abuse allegation to someone who no longer worked for the district. Further, the educator allegedly knew or should have known that the person no longer worked for the district because the person allegedly emailed the educator and informed her of their departure.
