Pre-K Teacher Salary Supplement & New House Chairs Named (January 25, 2021)

PAGE Advocates for Pre-K Teacher Salary Supplement

The Georgia legislature is in adjournment until Tuesday, Jan. 26, but legislative work continues. PAGE submitted a request to Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) Commissioner Amy Jacobs, Gov. Brian Kemp’s office, and state legislative appropriations leaders, asking policymakers to award Georgia Pre-K teachers with a one-time $1,000 salary supplement similar to the supplement recently announced for most K-12 teachers and staff. DECAL leaders have been supportive of Pre-K educators and providers during this challenging period, a promising stance. Read PAGE’S letter below to Commissioner Jacobs, encouraging this effort.
