Day 29: Slow Day After Crossover Frenzy; Correction to the Day 28 Report

Little Action Under the Gold Dome Today -- Correction to Previous Report

The House and Senate held few meetings today and did not take up any education-related legislation on the floor.

HB 517 by Rep. John Carson (R-Marietta), adds long-overdue and sorely needed transparency on the finances and operations of the tax credit private school voucher program. Before passing the House yesterday, the bill was amended in the Rules Committee to remove a proposed three-year extension of the existing $100 million cap on the tax credits that fund the program. PAGE failed to note the removal of this extension. We regret the error and have updated the Day 28 report, accordingly.
